From an earlier video
This is material from an earlier video — the interfaces and features of AI services may have changed since. The idea and the approach still hold.

When you talk to AI a lot, repeating the same roles and phrasing gets tiring.
- Typing “You are my editor…” every time — meh.
The fix — create templates and trigger them with a shortcut.
How to do it:
- For Windows, Beeftext works well
- For macOS — Raycast — Your shortcut to everything
You create a “combo”: a “trigger word” → “auto-text” pairing. For example:
- You type:
business-coach- It inserts: “You are a business coach, you help me analyse ideas against 4 criteria…”
Set it up once — use it everywhere: in Obsidian, in GPT, in your browser.
You can also drop in the clarifying prompt from the previous section.
Beeftext example:
This saves a ton of time. Especially if you have:
- Many roles (editor, mentor, summarizer, designer)
- Repetitive actions (making lists, vetting ideas, formatting text)
How to do this on iPhone?
iPhone has a “Text Replacement” feature — you can put your prompts there too and trigger a whole text with one word.
To do it:
- Go to “Settings” → General → Keyboard → Text Replacement → the plus in the top-right corner:
- Phrase — type your prompt here
- Shortcut — one word that will trigger your big prompt text
