Kanban
— isn’t just a task board, it’s a system for visually controlling your progress. It’s especially useful if you’re a visual person and like to see the process.
Why it’s so convenient in Obsidian specifically:
- The Kanban plugin uses ordinary Markdown files, which means:
- everything is easy to edit by hand
- it’s not tied to any service
- it works offline and fast
- You can add to the cards:
- checkboxes (
- [ ]) - deadlines (
📅 2025-05-10) - priorities, tags and links to other notes or even media
- checkboxes (
My personal case — Kanban for content:
I use a Kanban board for my YouTube channel, splitting the process into stages:
You can move each card as it gets done — this reduces anxiety and helps you focus only on the current stage.
Cool Kanban-plugin features:
- You can mark a card as done — it gets crossed out and moves to the bottom.
- There’s support for timestamps, tags and Dataview fields (if you combine it with the Dataview plugin).
- Support for Drag & Drop (dragging cards with the mouse).
- Each card can be linked to a separate note (handy for big tasks).
The Kanban page will be expanded over time with various examples
